Gary “Cowboy” Lang Daniels, age 74, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Accura Healthcare of Spirit Lake.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Bill Benson officiating. Casket bearers will be Gary’s family.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:15 A.M. on Saturday prior to the service.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday at the Westlawn Cemetery near Lehigh, IA.

Gary was born on May 16, 1948 in Fort Dodge, IA and was the son of Wayne L. and Hazel E (Hay) Daniels. Gary was a longtime resident of New Hope Village in Carroll where he lived from 1977 until moving to Spirit Lake in 2014 to be near his family. Gary worked at a variety of places in Carroll thru the New Hope Village work program, and he retired in 2010. Gary was very patriotic and dearly loved the site of the American flag. Gary loved horses and always thought of himself as a cowboy. He loved people, never knew a stranger, and was dearly loved by his family and all those who knew him. Gary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll.
Gary is survived by his brothers Dennis Daniels (Carol) of Summerville, SC, Jack Daniels (Becky) of Estherville, IA, and Chuck Daniels (Karey) of Allen, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Hazel Daniels and a nephew Trevor Daniels.
