Ronald Lee Keat, age 68, of Auburn, IA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Chaplain Peg Scheidt officiating. Casket bearers will be Dave Potthoff, Justin Potthoff, Brian Keat, Jason Daniel, Pat Lawler, and Kenny Lawler. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Auburn with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 1:00 -1:45 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the service.

Ron was born on November 7, 1953 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of George and Colet (Eich) Keat. He grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1973. Ron enlisted in the United States Army shortly following high school and served two years stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Carroll and worked for Hawkeye Flooring and later as a groundskeeper for the Carroll City Cemetery. He was married to Deb Mittelstat on November 21, 2008 in Carroll. The couple made their home in Auburn and Deb passed away in 2017. Ron enjoyed his dogs and having a beer.
Ron is survived by two sisters: Jane Keat “Bunny” of Carroll and Judi Daniel (John) of Carroll; three nephews; two nieces; and other extended family members and many good friends.
