Walter “Skip” Anneberg of Carroll

Walter Joseph Anneberg, known to most as Skip, age 60, of Carroll, IA died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

     Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 7, 2022 with Rev. Terry Plocher officiating.  Organist for the service will be Ellen Severin.  Casket Bearers will be John Petersen, John Weber, Peter Poland, Steve Nuckels, Jim Van Dyke, and Jeff Honald. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.

     Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.

     In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Gideons in Skip’s name.

     Skip was born on April 11, 1962 in Council Bluffs, IA, and he was the son of Dr. Allen and Jean (Treat) Anneberg.  He was a lifelong resident of Carroll.  Skip graduated from Carroll High School in 1980 and was valedictorian of the class. He attended and graduated from Iowa State University with a BA degree.  Skip worked for Stone Printing in the shipping and delivering department for many years, retiring in 2018.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll.  Skip enjoyed collecting books, CD’s, baseball and football cards.  He enjoyed fishing with his dad and trolling for Northern Pike at Okoboji.  He enjoyed eating out with his friends.

Skip is survived by his father Dr. Allen Anneberg of Carroll; his aunt and uncle Mary Louise and Rand Petersen of Wesley Acres, Fort Dodge, IA; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Jean Anneberg, and his grandarents Dr. Walter and Margaret Anneberg and Eber and Middie Treat.
