Daniel “Danny” Joseph Ertz, age 28, of Carroll, Iowa and formerly of Glidden, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his home in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Frist Presbyterian Church in Glidden with Pastor Patrick Henderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery in Glidden. Casket bearers will be David Ertz, Bryson Ertz, Benjamin Stoker, Chandler Scott, A.J. Rodriguez, Dennis Trizila, and Carter Scott. Honorary bearers will be Mike Rostermundt and Dan Ertz.
The family will greet friend from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden.

Daniel was born November 14, 1994 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, he was the son of David and Kathleen (Murphy) Ertz. He attended the Glidden Ralston Community Schools in Glidden graduating with the High School Class of 2014. During high school, Danny excelled in football and had received several awards through the years playing for the Wildcats. Following graduation, Danny worked with his dad helping him with his pressure washing business for six years. Most recently Danny has been employed with Scranton Manufacturing as a painter for the last three years.
Danny attended the Grace Church in Carroll and he loved The Lord. He played football for the North Iowa Knights Football League as a defensive end. Danny was an outgoing, fun loving guy and wore his heart on his sleeve and would do anything for anyone. In his spare time, you could often find him lifting weights, listen to music or fishing with his family and friends. He also cherished his German Shepherd dog “Zeke”.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Dave and Kathleen Ertz of Glidden; his brothers and sister: Stephanie Kernan of Glidden, Benjamin (Maria) Stoker of Carroll, and David Ertz II of Glidden; his nephew and niece who he was like a brother to, Bryson and Emily Ertz of Glidden; his paternal grandparents: Norm (Renae) Ertz of Denison, Iowa, Patricia (Tommy) Lewis of Arcadia, Indiana; his aunts and uncles: Dan Ertz of Omaha, Nebraska, Allyssa Ertz of Denison, Gregg Murphy of Minnesota, Frankie Curran, Michael (Ellen) Curran and Kevin Curran all of Massachusetts; his nieces and nephews: Kenley and Kaleb Stoker, and Lincoln and Presley Ertz all of Carroll; other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sharon M. Curran.
