The Carroll County Compensation Board is scheduled to meet a week from today (Thursday) to begin their discussions on Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 salaries for elected officials. The board convenes at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 in the supervisor meeting room at the courthouse. They’ll open the meeting by selecting members to serve as chairman, vice chairman, and secretary before opening a general discussion on compensation for the County Sheriff, Attorney, Recorder, Assessor, Auditor, Treasurer, and Supervisors. The board will attempt to reach a consensus on a recommendation to the board of supervisors on how salaries should be adjusted. If necessary, the compensation board can schedule additional meetings. The Thursday, Dec. 15 meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed via the county’s YouTube channel. The full agenda and link to the conference are included with this story on our website. Last year, the compensation board recommended increases from 12 to 28 percent for elected officials, which the supervisors reduced by 46 percent across all positions before approval.
