Carroll County Supervisors Seek Cost Savings Through Value Engineering For Upcoming Courthouse Remodel

The bulk of Monday’s Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting will again consist of Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 funding requests from area agencies. The board convenes at 9 a.m. on Dec. 19 at the courthouse. It opens with an update for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Foster Grandparents seeking financial support from the county. Before moving into their next budget request, supervisors will review and approve county appropriations resolutions, FY22 central service cost allocation plans, and plats. At 9:30 a.m., the Centers Against Abuse will address the board regarding their potential FY24 allocation. For insurance purposes, Carroll County is part of the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP), and the supervisors will need to cast ballots for the ICAP’s board of directors. They then review value engineering change orders for the upcoming courthouse remodel project in an effort to reduce costs on the approximately $4 million HVAC project. Supervisors close the meeting with final acceptance of the Iowa Statewide Interoperable Communications System (ISICS) project, committee reports, and the Carroll County Fair Board’s FY24 funding request. Again, the Monday, Dec. 19 meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse. The full agenda and links to the county’s YouTube page, where the meeting will be live-streamed, are included below.
