Water Main Break In Glidden Leads To Service Disruptions For Residents

Some residents in Glidden are without water after a water main break was discovered near City Park. According to city officials, crews identified a leak near the intersection of 1st and Colorado Streets over the weekend, and they reduced pressure in that area of the system to avoid an outage during the holiday. Unfortunately, those preventative measures failed, and there are service disruptions throughout the community. Specifically, homes and businesses on Colorado Street and Minnesota Street south of the park,  and all areas south of the railroad tracks. Crews are actively working to restore water service and have notified affected residents with a posting on their door. Bottled water is available at Glidden City Hall, and city officials are making the Glidden Recreation Center and Glidden Fire Station available for residents who need to use the shower.  Residents can make arrangements by contacting the city via their Facebook page, a link to which is included below, or by calling 712-830-4819. A boil advisory remains in place for affected customers.
