Scaturico Pledges Common Sense Spending In Run For Vacant District 5 Carroll County Supervisor Seat

Early voting opens tomorrow (Wednesday) as Carroll County voters prepare to cast ballots to fill the District 5 vacancy on the county board of supervisors. The Carroll County Republican Central Committee has nominated Cindy Scaturico of Carroll as their candidate. Scaturico and her family relocated to the area from Virginia about a year ago for her husband’s work in Denison, but she says they were drawn to Carroll when looking for where they would call home.

Scaturico’s educational and professional background is in the food processing industry as a safety manager and a plant superintendent. In those roles, she was tasked with the oversight of upwards of 100 employees, and it taught her to look for issues before they became serious problems. She says that is the mentality she would bring to county government.

According to Scaturico, her chief concern is the county’s annual budget. She says a dollar doesn’t go as far as it used to, and the county should always keep an eye on spending.

Scaturico has become increasingly concerned with the country’s direction in recent years and wants to play a role in limiting its impact on Carroll County. While she is not originally from the area, her family chose to call Carroll home. She says she wants to ensure other families will want to do so for years to come.

Scaturico is challenged by Democrat Tim Tracy for the District 5 Carroll County Board of Supervisors seat, which Rich Ruggles vacated in December. Early voting opens tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Carroll County Courthouse, and the special election is set for Tuesday, Feb. 7.
