Earlier this year, Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP) Executive Director Kimberly Tiefenthaler announced their “Launch 2023” campaign, which includes several new local grant opportunities. Tiefenthaler says, “This year is a year of action, a year of getting things done, and a year to offer new programs.” One of those programs is the CCGP’s Micro Façade Grant, which will award up to 10 $1,000 grants to Carroll County businesses to fund façade improvements, such as paint, windows, signage, doors, construction, masonry, and materials. Applicants can be any brick-and-mortar business in Carroll County and must have a 25 percent match of the total project cost to be selected. Applications will be accepted starting March 1 and close on April 30. The other new grant being offered is CCGP’s Jump-Start Accelerator Grant, which will award two $5,000 grants to business start-ups or expansion projects. Funds can be used toward construction costs, land/building acquisition, renovations, legal fees, and other similar expenses. Like the façade grants, applicants must have a 25 percent match of the total project cost. The Jump-Start Accelerator application period opens on April 1 and closes on April 30. Funding decisions are made by the CCGP Grant Committee, which consists of members from throughout the county and is chaired by Glidden City Administrator Brooke Peterson.
