Update: Grand Junction Man Taken Into Custody On Attempted Murder Charge

A Grand Junction man is in custody following an alleged attempted murder over the weekend. On Saturday, Feb 4th, at approximately 9:52 p.m. The Greene County Communication Center received a 911 from the 1000 block of Main Street East in Grand Junction. According to officials, the caller reported they had fallen and hit their head against the door. When Greene County Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene, they advised the Greene County Sheriff’s Office the injury was a possible gunshot wound. According to authorities, evidence was collected from the scene that led to the arrest of 31-year-old Adam Eugene Coy of Grand Junction. He was taken into custody without incident late Sunday morning and booked into the Greene County Jail on charges of attempted murder and willful injury causing serious injuries, class B felonies, and domestic abuse, a serious misdemeanor. According to law enforcement, the victim is being treated for her injuries. Officials note this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public. The Department of Criminal Investigations, Grand Junction Rescue, Greene County Ambulance, and Greene County Sheriff’s Office all assisted at the scene.
