The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education met with the DLR Group at last night’s (Monday) meeting to discuss the next steps of their district-wide facility update plan. DLR is an architectural firm based out of Omaha, Neb. Architect Eric Beron started the presentation by recapping some of the problems that may come the district’s way with the buildings.
Following that recap, Senior Architect Andrew Van Leeuwen offered the board five suggestions they could use towards district upgrades.
Other options were renovating Adams Elementary, which would cost anywhere from $27 to $30 million, and building a new high school, estimated at $70 million. DLR’s representative says the board has reached the point where they need to decide how they want to proceed.
The board then discussed the proposed options, and they favored hearing from stakeholders before moving forward. Board member Duane Horsley provided his thoughts.
The board is still in the early stages of planning for facility updates in the district. Full audio from this portion of the meeting can be found included with this story on our website.
