The 2023 Glidden Community Auction is set for tomorrow (Friday) to help raise money for Glidden and the surrounding area. The Haggai Masonic Lodge in Glidden hosts the event every year. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, with a social hour at the Lincoln Club. According to Treasurer Bob Linde, the live auction will start at 7:00 p.m. He says they have a variety of items up for bid.
Linde says many local businesses and individuals donate items to make the event possible. Some of the auction items include a Glidden Grocery Grilling Bundle, a Traeger Grill, a 30-minute sightseeing flight from Carroll Aviation, 18 holes of golf with a cart for four individuals at the Coon Rapids Golf Course, and much more. Linde notes all the money raised goes back into the community.
The auction has been held in the community annually for the last 15-plus years. Again, doors open at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a social hour, and the auction starts an hour later at 7:00 p.m. with Auctioneers Steve Seidl and Justin Brant. The event is free and open to the public.
