A Carroll woman faces felony charges in Carroll County District Court for alleged lottery theft. According to court records, 23-year-old Bailey Dawn Rose was arrested Tuesday by the Carroll Police Department after an investigation found Rose had stolen at least 10 tickets between Jan. 25 and Feb. 13 while employed at the Sparky’s East in Carroll. Authorities say Rose also redeemed the winning tickets for cash in addition to the initial theft. She was booked into the Carroll Conty jail and released on a promise to appear at future court hearings. Rose’s preliminary hearing is set for Thursday, March 23 at the Carroll County Courthouse. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
