Charlene was born to Joseph and Frances Bluml on November 15, 1934 in Halbur, Iowa, and grew up on a farm outside of Halbur. She was the eighth child out of twelve in the Bluml family. By baptism, she became a beloved child of God the Father in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Charlene was a graduate of St. Augustine’s School. She met the love of her life at a dance and she was united in marriage to Loras John Stork on October 6, 1954, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Halbur, Iowa. Loras and Charlene farmed near Halbur for the first two years of marriage and then moved to a farm north of Glidden in 1960. Her loving service was experienced daily by her husband Loras and their six children Lynn, Lee, Lori, Lyle, Lisa, and Leslie. She loved being a farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. She supported the L. Stork Farms by assisting in the accounting/finance, feeding, and caring for the men on the farm. Charlene was a devoted Catholic and loved serving the Lord and her community at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish of Glidden as President of the Ladies Guild, member of the funeral committee, choir member and religious education teacher. She was also involved with the Richland Hotshots 4-H group, Carroll County Fair, Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #386 of Glidden. She was an amazing cook, baker, canner, and caretaker of her family. She cherished times with family at Christmas around her sparkling tree adorned with crystal angel ornaments. Many of her favorite times were cheering her family on at their sporting events, gardening, bowling, fishing, and playing cards. Loras and Charlene enjoyed dancing and having fun on vacation in Las Vegas. She was her family’s matriarch. Her unconditional love, kindness and support will be greatly missed by all who had her in their lives.
