Four Iowans in the Carroll Broadcasting listening area have been appointed or reappointed to serve on several of the state’s many boards and commissions. Gov. Kim Reynolds announced dozens of her selections on Friday, including reappointing Sherry Bates of Scranton to the Iowa Board of Regents, which oversees the state’s public universities. Bates was first appointed to the Board of Regents by Gov. Terry Branstad in 2014 and now serves as its president pro tempore. Michael Nelson of Carroll, a senior vice president of Iowa Savings Bank, was reappointed by Reynolds to serve on the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) Board of Directors. Other locals appointed include Paul Assman of Crawford County to serve on the Flood Mitigation Board and Eileen Meier of Calhoun County to the Justice Advisory Board. These appointments are subject to approval by the Iowa Senate before becoming effective. A complete list of the governor’s appointees is included below.
