Lawrence Hoffmann, age 64, of Glidden, died Saturday, March 11, 2023 at his home in Glidden surrounded by his family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden. The celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Mary Ross, Mike Bolton, and the St. Elizabeth Seton Choir. Lector will be Geralyn Shirbroun. Gift Bearers will be Jennette Whitver and Nicole Esslinger. Eucharistic Ministers will be Marlene Hoffmann and Rosemary Possehn. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Lawrence’s Nieces and Nephews. Casket Bearers will be Lawrence’s Nephews. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Cemetery in Glidden.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A Rosary with a time of reflection and sharing will be held at 6p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Elizabeth Church on Friday morning where visitation will resume from 9:30a.m. to 10:15a.m.

Lawrence Alan, the son of John F. and Linda Mae (Thelen) Hoffmann was born on November 5, 1958, in Carroll Iowa. He attended St Lawence elementary school and graduated from Carroll high school in 1977.
After graduating from high school, and throughout his life, Lawrence worked for various businesses throughout Carroll County. His most recent being, driving bus for Kuemper Catholic schools, which he enjoyed dearly. Lawrence enjoyed working, Nascar, sports, camping, cooking, cards, and family.
On August 12, 1995, Lawrence was united in marriage with Charlotte Toms, from this union of marriage, Joseph and Kelsey were born.
After a short stay in a hospital, Lawrence joined hospice for a short while and later passed away peacefully at his home in Glidden Iowa on March 11, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Char of Glidden, his children Joseph of Cedar Falls and his daughter Kelsey (Ivan) of Des Moines. His siblings Mevin Hoffmann of Glidden, Rosemary (Earl) Possehn of Fort Dodge, Loras (Marlene) of Arcadia, Geralyn (Darwin) of Bayard; sister-in-law Donna Hoffmann of Carroll; in-laws Martin and Linda Toms of Woodbine, and Leon and Ruth Tiefenthaler of Breda, Kenny and Nancy Toms of Oklahoma, Mandy and Chad Underberg of Breda; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents John and Linda Mae Hoffmann; his siblings LaVeda Segebart, LaVern Hoffmann, Delbert Hoffmann, Cletus Hoffmann, John Hoffmann, Daryl Hoffmann, Brenda Cain; in-laws Diane Tiefenthaler, Ernest Segebart, Jackie Cain, and a nephew Joshua Hoffmann.
