A Lake City woman charged for allegedly harming a Carroll group home resident has been sentenced in Carroll County District Court. The order against 68-year-old Denise Janine Lauridsen was handed down last week. She was initially charged with dependent adult abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor, for the Sept. 5, 2022 incident that seriously injured the victim. Authorities say Lauridsen was working as a direct support professional in the victim’s group home when she committed multiple reckless acts against the victim via wanton neglect. She pled guilty to the charge after reaching an agreement with prosecutors and was sentenced last week to 30 days in the Carroll County jail with all but two days suspended. Associated fines and surcharges were also suspended in the order. Lauridsen was also ordered to pay restitution to the victim in an amount to be determined at a later date.
