City Of Carroll Honors Veterans With National Vietnam War Veterans Day Proclamation

National Vietnam War Veterans Day is coming up near the end of the month on March 29, and local officials are marking 50 years since U.S. combat troops departed the country. In recognition of Vietnam-era veterans and their service, the Carroll City Council approved a proclamation recognizing the date at their meeting earlier this week. Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Siemann shares the language from that declaration.

Six local Vietnam veterans were at Monday’s council meeting to present an award to the City of Carroll for its longstanding and steadfast support of our nation’s servicemen and women. Interim City Manager Jeff Cayler says the city is partnering with local American Legion posts and VFWs to host a public ceremony on March 29 at the Arthur N. Neu Carroll Municipal Airport.

That ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and the public is strongly encouraged to attend. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more on that planned event in upcoming newscasts.
