The Manning Public Library is hosting an hour-long presentation on Iowa’s 99 Freedom Rocks later this week. On Thursday, March 23, a former teacher and Glidden native, Marilyn Jepson, will share a photo collection of all 99-county freedom rocks. The freedom rock tour was launched in 2013 by Iowa artist Ray “Bubba” Sorensen with the goal of painting a rock in each of Iowa’s 99 counties to commemorate Iowa’s ties to military service. The event will run an hour long from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the library on Main Street in Manning. The program is free and open to the public. Individuals can contact the Manning Public Library using the points included with this story on our website for more information.
