The Carroll RAGBRAI Committee announced this (Tuesday) morning the theme for the 2023 overnight host community is “You’ll Have a Barrel of Fun.” Organizers gathered at the Santa Maria Winery to make the announcement and were joined by community leaders. Lynda Dukes-Franey, who serves on the RAGBRAI Executive Committee, says they chose a theme that pulls the county’s history, culture, and heritage together.

The logo features a fendered road bike over the city’s name and three barrels emblazoned with the words “50 Years Aged to Perfection.” The RAGBRAI Committee tapped the skills of a Carroll native and Carroll High School Graduate, Tom Bolan, who owns and operates ArtworX Design Shop in Lake View, to create the 2023 logo.

With the logo and theme now revealed, the RAGBRAI subcommittees will begin incorporating this motif into the various displays, promotional materials, and entertainment planned for this summer’s overnight stop. Carroll Mayor Mark Beardmore says the community is excited to welcome tens of thousands of riders in July.
