Iowa 4th District Representative Randy Feenstra invites eighth-grade and high school students interested in attending one of the nation’s five military service academies to attend a free informational seminar at the beginning of next month. On Tuesday, April 4, representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Military, U.S. Naval, U.S. Merchant Marine, and U.S. Air Force Academies will be in Fort Dodge at the Iowa Central Community College Triton Café Boardroom to answer prospective students’ questions. Feenstra says, “Serving our country in uniform is an honorable calling, solemn duty, and incredible sacrifice. Our nation remains the freest and strongest in the world because of our brave troops. I invite every student in the 4th District who is interested in applying to one of our nation’s military academies to attend my military academy day in Fort Dodge. This will be a great opportunity to better understand the application process and meet with other Iowa students who share similar interests.” The program runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 4, and the formal presentation will begin promptly at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Feenstra’s Military Academy Coordinator, Jim Oberhelman, by calling 515-302-7060.
