Audubon Man Arrested In Connection To Recent String Of Thefts In Exira

An Audubon man remains in custody at the Audubon County jail following his arrest last week on burglary and theft charges. Twenty-six-year-old Zeth Lee Petersen was booked on charges of third-degree burglary, a class D felony, two counts of third-degree theft and one count of possession of a controlled substance, aggravated misdemeanors. According to the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Petersen’s residence with assistance from the Audubon Police Department and recovered items that had been reported stolen in a recent string of thefts in Exira. He is being held on a $10,000 bond. Petersen has a history of theft-related convictions in Audubon and Carroll Counties, most recently in January 2022 for breaking into the Manning Service Center and stealing tools and a vehicle.
