Lake City officials have approved a proposal to change when items can be submitted for the council’s agenda. According to City Administrator Jacob Matthews, the adjustment will provide more time for officials to complete adequate internal reviews and processing for each agenda item. Matthews says the council changed the process because too many items were being submitted last minute.
Individuals will now have until noon on the Wednesday before a council meeting to submit requests. Matthews says the council has protocols in place if items are submitted after that period.
Matthews adds the Wednesday deadline is standard for most communities in the state. He encourages anyone with any questions to reach out to city hall, and those contact points can be found included with this story on our website. The next Lake City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 17, so all items must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, April 12.
