Calhoun, Crawford, Guthrie Counties All Under Burn Bans As Of Thursday Afternoon

Burn-Map

As of this (Thursday) afternoon, three counties in the listening area have been placed under an open burning ban as the fire risk rises following sustained dry conditions and high winds. Calhoun and Crawford Counties are the latest to join the list as of April 13. Guthrie County was placed under a burn ban on Wednesday. Residents in affected counties are prohibited from most forms of open burning without a permit from their local fire chief. As of Thursday, 25 counties remained under an active burn ban in Iowa.
