Cynthia Ann Farmer 63, of Papillion, NE. Died April 12, 2023, at Emerald Rehab and Long Term Facility in Lincoln, NE.

Cynthia was born on October 6, 1959, to Curtis and Kathryn (Duncan) Ericson in Carroll, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic Church and in her younger years, she received her elementary education in McCook, Ne. In 1971 the family moved to Carroll, Iowa where she attended and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School. She was active in and enjoyed volleyball, track, cheerleading, chorus and intermural sports.

Cindy, as known by everyone, received a bachelor’s degree from Briar Cliff Unv. In Sioux City, Iowa where she played volleyball and was a cheerleader.

In 1986, Cindy joined the United States Air Force. Throughout her career, she was stationed in Texas, California, Colorado and Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. While in the Air Force she received many accommodations and awards. Including John Levitow award, the highest award received in the Air Force, Joint Service Achievement medal, Air Force Commendation, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Cindy was a devoted homemaker and Mother of two children Jaxson and Curtis. She enjoyed going to all of her children’s sporting events and she made sure they could hear her support from the stands. Her children’s education was her top priority. Cindy also was an extremely devoted Grandmother of Grayson.

After a 20 year career in the military, Cindy retired from the Air Force with honorable discharge in 2006. Most recently Cindy was working as project coordinator of Copper River.

Cindy is survived by her children, Jaxson, Curtis and girlfriend Kathryn Elliot, grandson Grayson, mother Kathryn (Duncan) Ericson, siblings: Kevin and Gina (Lawrence) Ericson of Maxwell, IA, Becky (Ericson) and Vern Behrens of Carroll, Iowa, Jim and Melissa (Wisdom) Ericson of Moline, ILL. Aunts and Uncles: Delphine (Duncan) Demers of Storm Lake, IA, Linda Duncan of Manilla, IA, Bernadine (Duncan) Tegels of Fonda, IA, Phil Didier of Denison, IA, Clayton and Cher Ericson of S. Sioux, NE and Norris Ericson of Colorado Springs, CO.

Preceded in death by her father, Curtis Ericson, brother Robert Ericson at birth. Grandparents: Oscar and Judith Ericson and Bernard and Mary (Bauman) Duncan. Aunts and Uncles: Louis Demers, James Duncan, Norene (Duncan) Didier, Louis and Evelyn (Stormer) Duncan, Don Tegels, Melvin and Nancy (Bray) Ericson, Donna (Mohr) Ericson, Robert and Marynelle (Ericson) Samuelson.

Visitation to take place on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Funeral Home with a Vigil Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. also at Bethany Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church (200 E. 6th St., Papillion, NE. 68046).  Burial Omaha National Cemetery (14250 Schram Rd., Omaha, NE. 68138) with Military Honors
