Lake View City Admin, Scott Peterson, Departing For City Of Jefferson

Longtime Lake View City Administrator, Scott Peterson, has accepted an offer from the City of Jefferson to become that community’s next lead administrator. The Jefferson City Council finalized the deal during a special meeting Tuesday morning. Peterson will be replacing Mike Palmer, who announced his retirement last December. Peterson says it was a challenging decision to leave Lake View, which is where he grew up and spent the past 25 years of his career, but he could not pass up the opportunities offered in Jefferson.

A lot has changed in Lake View over the past quarter century, from the installation of a new splash pad in Speaker Park to significant investments into water quality initiatives at Black Hawk Lake, and Peterson has played a part in nearly all of them. He says two specific examples really stand out to him as the most notable.

He says he is proud of what he and the community have accomplished over the last 25 years.

Peterson’s last day as the Lake View City Administrator is June 2, and he officially begins in his new role at Jefferson City Hall on June 15. The Lake View Council is scheduled to meet Sunday, April 23 to formally accept Peterson’s resignation and begin the process of finding his replacement. His departure from Lake View is not unexpected, as he was also a finalist in the City of Carroll’s search for a new city manager earlier this year.
