The trial for a Manning man accused of threatening a woman and law enforcement last month has been scheduled for later this spring. According to Carroll County District Court records, 40-year-old Joseph Michael Bainbridge pled not guilty last week to two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony, assault while using or displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a serious misdemeanor. Bainbridge was arrested by the Manning Police Department on March 19 after authorities determined he illegally possessed several firearms and made threats of violence against the victim and law enforcement. As of Wednesday morning, Bainbridge remains in custody at the Carroll County jail on a $50,000 bond. His jury trial is scheduled to begin June 6. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of up to 12 years in prison and over $23,000 in fines.
