A Carroll woman faces two separate assault charges following her arrest over the weekend. At approximately 4:24 p.m. on Saturday, officers with the Carroll Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of N. Randall Road in response to a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who told law enforcement he was verbally arguing with a family member when 44-year-old Amy Jo Hunter intervened, punching the victim in the face and head. Hunter was taken into custody and later transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for injuries she claims she received during her arrest. While at the hospital, she allegedly spit in an officer’s face, leading to a second charge of assault on a peace officer, a serious misdemeanor. Hunter was booked into the Carroll County jail and released Sunday following an appearance before a magistrate.
