Vail city officials are reminding residents that hydrant flushing procedures will begin later this week in the community. The flushing will begin on Wednesday, April 26. Hydrant flushing is conducted semi-annually to help keep the water lines free of rust and accumulated mineral deposits. Residents may experience some water discoloration during and immediately after lines are opened. Individuals that do have discoloration need to run water in their homes until it returns to clear.
