Organizers Reflect On Record-Breaking 39th Annual Friends Of Kuemper Ball

This past weekend’s Friends of Kuemper Ball raised a remarkable $786,388 for the Kuemper Catholic School System. Alumni and Annual Giving Director Heather Pietig says the Kuemper Ball has been a crucial fundraiser for the school every year, and it’s exciting to see it break a fundraising record for the second consecutive year.

They started Saturday night at just over $600,000 raised but ended nearly $200,000 over that initial mark. Pietig says that goes to show a lot of fundraising happens before the event. Still, that last-minute push makes a huge difference, especially when considering the “Thank You Mom & Dad” challenge from Brian and Patty Hannasch.

The 39th annual Friends of Kuemper Ball chair couples were Jess and Stephanie Hausman, Dave and Carly Pedelty, Matt and Stacie Tonniges, and Shane Vaugn and Sarah Zimmerman. Hausman says they still have some final checklist items to finish before calling this year’s ball a wrap, and they are already searching for next year’s new chair couples.

While the ball might be over, donations are still coming in through the mail or online at www.kuemper.org. Pietig encourages anybody interested in being a 2024 ball chair to reach out to her directly using the contact points included below.
