St. Anthony Regional Hospital is proud to announce that two of its nurses, Christina Woerdehoff and Jamie Wuebker, have been named 2023 Great Iowa Nurses. This annual program recognizes nurses for their contributions to the nursing profession. This year, 78 Iowa nurses have received this honor. The nominations for this honor are reviewed by a committee of individuals from various healthcare organizations across Iowa, and nurses are chosen based on their service to patients, leadership, and mentoring to younger medical providers. Employees, families, and friends celebrated the achievements of Woerdehoff and Wuebker during a gathering in the hospital’s atrium yesterday (Thursday). Anita Becker, vice president of patient services and chief nursing officer, says, “Christina and Jamie are true examples of what it means to be a Great Iowa Nurse. Both bring extensive knowledge to their respective departments and show leadership and dedication. We are proud to have them at St. Anthony!” Woerdehoff is the St. Anthony Education Services Supervisor and leads many initiatives that impact St. Anthony’s ability to deliver quality care while providing a workplace where staff can learn and grow. Wuebker is the director of Carroll County Ambulance Service and also works in the St. Anthony Emergency Department. A virtual ceremony featuring videos from award recipients will be held on a date to be announced. A link to the complete list of 2023 recipients is included below.
