As activities begin to pick up with the warmer weather, the Carroll Police Department is seeing a slight increase in the frequency of reported burglaries in the community. Police Chief Brad Burke says the recent figures reflect the higher number of people spending time outdoors.
Burke says an unsecured door is a common theme among most car and home burglaries.
Simply locking your car when it is unattended or securing your home and garage while out of the house goes a long way toward avoiding becoming a victim. Burke says reporting suspicious activity or possible criminal activity helps local law enforcement identify a suspect more quickly.
All non-emergency police issues can be reported to the Carroll County Dispatch Center by calling 712-792-3536.
