At Monday’s Lake View City Council meeting, officials approved a Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) Grant agreement for the proposed community center. According to City Administrator Scott Peterson, the grant awarded $240,000 to the Lake View Community Center project. Currently, the budget for the project is just over $1.6 million. Most of the funds have been raised through grants and donations. Peterson says officials still need to raise approximately $200,000 in 90 days per the agreement with CAT. Donations are still being accepted for the project. So far, the project has received donations and grants from the Water Quality Initiative Program, Sac County Endowment Foundation, Black Hawk Lake Protective Association, and more. Individuals wishing to donate can contact Lake View City Hall at 712-657-2634.
