The Jefferson Police Department has requested an arrest warrant for a Bayard woman following an investigation into recent motor vehicle burglaries. According to law enforcement, the warrant for third-degree burglary—motor vehicle, an aggravated misdemeanor, was issued last week for 28-year-old Alexis Hannah Free. The charges stem from an investigation started on May 14 in connection to the alleged break-ins. The charges carry a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
