The low bid submitted yesterday (Tuesday) for the upcoming Adams Street reconstruction project in Carroll came in nearly $200,000 under the engineer’s estimate of $3.7 million. Three companies submitted bids for the project, which were then opened and reviewed during a bid opening at Carroll City Hall at 10 a.m. Rasch Construction Inc. of Fort Dodge submitted the low bid for $3,550,680. All Star Concrete LLC of Johnston presented a $4,488,581 offer, and King Construction of Wall Lake submitted the highest bid at $5,356,307. As the lowest bidder by nearly a million dollars, Rasch Construction’s proposal is likely to be approved by city officials during the council’s June 12 meeting. The contractor indicated they plan to complete the stretch of Adams Street from U.S. Highway 30 to 10th Street this summer and then finish the remaining three blocks between 10th and 13th Streets next year.
