Runners and walkers gather this weekend at Swan Lake State Park for the Carroll Chamber of Commerce’s 8th Annual Color Run 5K. The early registration deadline has already passed, but Chamber Program Director Ashley Schable says that doesn’t mean it is too late to join in the fun.
Registrations, which are $30 for adults and $20 for children six to 12 years old, are still being accepted through the June 10 run/walk. The Color Run has progressively drawn more and more runners and walkers each year it has been held, and Schable says that appears to be the case again.
She adds all eight of the color zones will be manned by representatives from local businesses, including I Saw the Sign, American Home Shield, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), New Hope, Western Iowa Networks, Brown’s Shoe Fit, the Family Resource Center, and Game One. Participants can also signup the morning of the Color Run beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the run starting at 9 a.m.
