Families Invited To Celebrate Ronald McDonald House Charities In Carroll Saturday

FamilyFun-Website-Template

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa invites area families to join them tomorrow (Saturday) in Carroll for an afternoon of family fun to raise awareness for the organization’s mission and local impact. Noah Dryden and Chris Petersen, whose families have both benefited from the Ronald McDonald House in Des Moines during a child’s illness, are part of the team helping to put on Saturday’s Family Fun Festival. The program begins at 2 p.m. on 5th Street between Court and Clark Streets. Dryden says they’ll open with activities for the whole family.

Dryden adds that the Carroll County Cattlemen are planning to grill dinner with meat donated from Arcadia Meats beginning at 5 p.m. Dryden says 2 ½ Guitars will take the stage at 7 p.m. and play into the evening.

Dryden and Petersen note Saturday’s festivities are not intended primarily as a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Rather, their goal is to highlight the considerable number of local families directly benefiting from the organization’s work.

Saturday’s forecast does carry a significant chance for rain. As a precaution, they’ve prepared alternate plans to shift the Family Fun Festival indoors. If weather requires a venue change, the children’s activities will instead be hosted at the Kuemper Field House on E. Anthony Street, with the adult programming moving inside Kerp’s beginning at 7 p.m. Organizers note these plans are flexible and subject to change. Stay tuned to your Carroll Broadcasting stations for notifications leading up to the event.
