According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa, movement in local fuel prices was muted the past week. As of Wednesday, June 14, the price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.36, a one-cent increase from the prior week but $1.39 lower than a year ago. The national average climbed four cents on the week to $3.59 per gallon. As for retail diesel, prices were down four cents on average in Iowa to $3.63 per gallon, compared to $5.33 a year ago. Iowa diesel prices held 28 cents below the national average of $3.91 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16, while natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were unchanged at $2.34 per MMBtu.
