Steve Druivenga of Wall Lake

Steve Druivenga, age 65 of Wall Lake, IA, passed away at his home on Friday, June 9, 2023. Steven Lee Druivenga was born on September 1, 1957, to parents Dale and Ruth (Scott) Druivenga at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. He grew up in the Lake View/Carnarvon/Wall Lake area and attended Lake View-Auburn Elementary School. He graduated with the Class of 1975 from Wall Lake High School. He was a member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Carnarvon, IA.

After graduating high school, Steve worked in the rock and gravel business. He then worked in agriculture for over forty years, most recently working as a supervisor for Nutrien.

Steve was blessed with a daughter, Ashley. On November 14, 1992, Steve married Mary Cook in Wall Lake. He gained three more daughters, Joy, Desirae, and Bobbie. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was Mayor of Wall Lake for 13 years. He liked small town living and was proud to call Wall Lake home. Steve enjoyed bowling and bowled on league for many years. He liked watching football and always looked forward to his trips to Sioux City to watch the Bandits play arena football. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Mary Druivenga of Wall Lake, IA; mother Ruth Druivenga of Carnarvon, IA; children Ashley Lang, Joy (Brian) Sparland, Desirae Baratta (Tony Kramer), and Bobbie (Juan) Vega; brothers Dan (Tonya) Druivenga and Mark (Shantel) Druivenga; grandchildren: Burke and Calvin Sparland, Kjersten (Rylan) Harris, Cade Baratta, Devin and Regan Kramer, Gracie and Mason Snyder, Kobe, Alex, Genesis, and Christian Vega, Faith and Nevaeh Druivenga, Gabriella and Benjamin Vegilanti; great-grandchildren Saige Harris and Saylor McKinley; nieces and nephews McKinsey, Boe, Brett, Cameron, and Michael; other extended family members and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Dale Druivenga; grandparents Kasper and Ida Druivenga and William and Frances Scott; several aunts, uncles, and other extended family members.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Wall Lake Cemetery in Wall Lake, IA. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Wall Lake has been entrusted to care for Steve and his family.
