The Carroll Chamber’s 8th Annual Color Fun Run/Walk brought joy and excitement to runners and walkers during last weekend’s festivities. A total of 150 participants gathered at Swan Lake State Park for the color-infused event. The 5K route around Swan Lake follows the Sauk Rail Trail, starting at the South Shelter House. Each participant received a white event shirt to capture the colors thrown from the sponsor stations and a goodie bag before embarking on the route. Ashley Schable, the Chamber’s program director, says, “The event is less about your 10-minute-mile and more about the fun of being doused from head to toe in different colored powder. The color zone crews do a great job of providing their own fun along the course, with music and decorations, and participants really enjoy each of the zones.” Following the route, runners were provided with drinks and protein balls by Crossroads Nutrition, while Hy-Vee donated apples, bananas, and bottled water. I Saw the Sign treated participants with popsicles at the finish line. The event was supported by various sponsors and organized by the Chamber Color Run committee.
