The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education convenes tomorrow (Thursday) evening for their final full meeting of Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau says day-to-day activities obviously slow down some while students are out on summer break, but they’ve stayed busy since Memorial Day weekend.
Last week, three Carroll High School students, Kylie Janning, Aliya Reed, and Sophia Tidgren, presented at the National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland, and they will be sharing their experience with the board. Berlau says presentations like this help officials stay engaged in CCSD’s student experience.
Berlau says the board will also hear a proposal to overhaul the district’s alternative high school diploma program, known as ROAR.
Berlau says they will also begin working to close out the books on FY23.
Other items on Thursday’s agenda include adjustments to the district’s lunch and breakfast price list, new technology purchases, and a regularly scheduled superintendent evaluation. The meeting opens to the public at 5:30 p.m. at the Adams Elementary School and will also be available via Zoom. The full agenda can be found included below. The school board is expected to meet briefly on June 27 to approve some late bills before the fiscal year ends on June 30.
