Ronald McDonald House Charities’ ‘Magical Day’ In Carroll Helps Raise Awareness

magical-day-1-2

Earlier this month, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa hosted a “Magical Day” in Carroll to highlight the organization’s impact on local families. The Saturday, June 10 event brought together hundreds of families and supporters on 5th Street, with kids’ activities, live music from 2 ½ Guitars, food from the Carroll County Cattlemen, and more. Months of planning culminated in this event focused on raising awareness about the direct impact of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa in the Carroll community and surrounding areas. For more than 40 years, Ronald McDonald Houses around the country have provided a no-cost place for families to stay while their children receive treatment for cancer, congenital heart defects, and a wide range of other health issues. While fundraising was not the organizers’ primary goal, there was still an outpouring of support from attendees and local businesses, enabling the charity to provide over 4,500 nights of accommodation to families in need.
