Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP) announced today (Friday) the highly anticipated HUB 712 small business resource center has found a home in the former Western Iowa Networks (WIN) retail space in downtown Carroll. Earlier this year, CCGP was awarded a $200,000 grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to establish the center that will provide resources to individuals interested in starting their businesses, expanding their existing businesses, developing succession planning, and more. HUB 712 will also maintain resource partnerships with Iowa’s Small Business Development Center, Rural Business Innovator, the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) Advance Iowa program, the Rural Ideas Network, and others. Under the agreement, WIN will maintain ownership of the facility at 603 N. Adams St., which will be leased to CCGP at a reduced rate. It has been on the market since WIN moved to its new operations center on Kittyhawk Avenue in July 2021. The facility will be known as the “W Innovation Center,” providing co-working areas, educational opportunities, and collaboration spaces. CCGP Executive Director, Kimberly Tiefenthaler, says, “When you look at the layout of a space and the needs that go into co-working, collaboration, and innovation, you can only dream of coming across a space such as this because it is as close to perfect as you can imagine. We are set with such a great foundation in this space and with a few updates, it will be ready to go.” Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more on HUB 712 development in upcoming newscasts.
