Born on August 1, 1960 in Carroll, IA Randy was the son of Andrew “Sonny” and Elvera (Wittrock) Daniel. He grew up on a farm near Roselle and graduated from Kuemper High School in 1978. He married his high school sweetheart, and love of his life, Gail Danzer on November 5, 1982. They made their home in Glidden where they started a family and raised three children. Randy farmed and worked at West Central / Landus Cooperative in Ralston for 32 years until his retirement in 2017. Although retired, Randy continued to farm and enjoyed tackling projects around the acreage.

Always on the go, you could often find Randy fishing, going to farm sales, tractor rides, and spending social time in the shop. He was a leader and role model to many in his professional career, as well as to his 3 children who deeply valued his beliefs and friendly disposition. Above all else, Randy was a devoted husband and family man who loved spending time with Gail, whether they were traveling, walking around Swan Lake, camping, or entertaining grandkids. He was adored by his children and his 8 grandchildren. Grandpa Randy will forever be a beloved fixture of their childhood and will encompass many of their favorite memories. Never an unkind word, and always there with a smile and a joke. Randy never thought twice about dropping everything to lend a helping hand.
