Excitement is building for a planned businesses development center, known as HUB 712, following last week’s announcement Carroll County Growth Partnership (CCGP) and Western Iowa Networks (WIN) had reached an agreement to house the facility in WIN’s former retail space in downtown Carroll. Earlier this year, the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) awarded CCGP $200,000 to found HUB 712. Tiefenthaler says their new facility will help consolidate the many resources available to Iowa businesses.
HUB 712 will serve businesses in Carroll and the surrounding counties by connecting them with experts at the Iowa Small Business Development Center, the University of Northern Iowa’s Advance Iowa program, the Rural Ideas Network, and many others. WIN CEO Jeff Roiland says HUB 712 and the “W Innovation Center” seemed like an excellent use for their old facility, which has gone unutilized for the last two years.
In addition to the many resources offered at the site, HUB 712 and the W Innovation Center will also provide shared working areas, collaboration spaces, meeting rooms, and more. Tiefenthaler says it will take a little time before the physical site is up and running.
She adds they hope to have a virtual launch of HUB 712 and the W Innovation Center ready to go within a month. For more information about the resources offered via HUB 712, contact the Carroll Chamber of Commerce by calling 712-792-4383.
