Air quality will be a concern for many Iowans today (Wednesday) as smoke from the Canadian wildfires pushes its way southward. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), all 99 counties in Iowa are forecasted to be under some warning, ranging from “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups,” which includes people with lung or heart disease, to “Very Unhealthy,” where most of the population could notice adverse effects. The smoky haze is expected to persist through Wednesday afternoon, but officials anticipated it should begin to dissipate into the evening and overnight hours. Learn more at www.airnow.gov.
