A Manning man arrested earlier this year for allegedly threatening other residents and law enforcement with firearms will plead guilty to the charges levied against him in Carroll County District Court. Forty-year-old Joseph Michael Bainbridge was initially charged with two counts of control of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony, assault while using or displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a serious misdemeanor. A Manning Police Department affidavit says Bainbridge illegally possessed a small-caliber revolver and a Ruger 10/22 rifle and used the weapons to threaten the victim and their families during a video call in March. According to the plea agreement, Bainbridge will plead guilty to one count of felon in possession of a firearm and second-degree harassment. The remaining charges will be dismissed after sentencing, which is scheduled for Aug. 24. Bainbridge faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and $13,750 in fines.
