Larry Lee Hurd Jr., age 61, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
A public graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Carroll City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Larry’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com
Larry was born on August 25, 1961 in Chicago, Ill, and he was the son of Larry Sr. and Bonnie (Wire) Hurd. His family lived in Chicago until his mom and dad moved to Carroll to work for Crouse Cartage. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1981 where he was an excellent wrestler and football player. He attended Waldorf College where he played football. Larry had several jobs over the years in Carroll. He loved to socialize with his friends and attend Carroll High Sporting events. Larry was affectionately called “Buck” by his mom Bonnie who passed away in 2008.
Larry is survived by his siblings: Erika Hurd of Carroll, Brent (Karen) Hurd of Carroll, and Rachelle (Lindsey) Thrash of TX; three nephews Jake, River, and Bradley; and three nieces: Mollie, Maggie, and Mattie; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Larry Hurd Sr. and his mother Bonnie Hurd.
