A Carroll woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the stomach has been placed on probation following her sentencing earlier this month. According to Carroll County District Court records, 31-year-old Devani Ariel Hultman was arrested in the 900 block of N. East Street on June 24 of last year following an assault investigation by the Carroll Police Department. Authorities say Hultman admitted using a knife to stab the victim during an altercation. She pled guilty to domestic abuse assault using a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor. Hultman was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay over $2,500 in fines and surcharges. However, those penalties were suspended, and she was instead ordered to complete two years of formal probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services.
