Lisa Batz, age 57 of Lake City, IA, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, IA.  Lisa Jolene was born on January 9, 1966, to parents Kenneth and Karen (Buman) Batz in Keokuk, IA.  She grew up in the Des Moines, IA area where she attended grade school and graduated from Valley High in 1984.  Lisa continued her education at DMACC, earning her AA in business administration.

On August 24 1994, Lisa was united in marriage to Bred Bader in Des Moines.  This union was blessed with two daughters Lyndsey and Mackenzie.  While living in the city, Lisa worked as an administrative assistant for Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn.  They later moved to Lake City, IA, where Lisa got the job as the assistant to the city administrator.

Lisa grew to love the town of Lake City and became very involved.  She would volunteer for the Lake City Betterment Association events and later became a board member.  She also recorded the city council meetings for them.  Lisa loved talking to people through her jobs and communicating with the people of Lake City.  In her free time, Lisa loved to read.  Her favorite genre to read were the classics and her second was reading about animals.  Lisa enjoyed listening to music, puzzles, and doing crafts.  She also liked to go fishing, go on road trips, and travel.  Most of all, Lisa cherished her time spent with her loved ones.  She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her partner Bryan Hatch of Lake City, IA; children: Lyndsey (Brendon Geary) Batz of Ft. Collins, CO, and Mackenzie (Dmitri Mejia) Bader of …….; grandchild Roman Geary; brother Michael (Dorothy) Batz of Albuquerque, NM; several other extended family members and many friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her husband Bred Bader and parents Kenneth and Karen Batz.

Visitation will be held at Lampe Funeral Home on Saturday, July 8th from 9-11 am. Service will be held from 11-12 pm and a get-together for family and friends will be held afterward at the Lake City Country Club from 1-5 pm for all to attend.
